A very warm welcome to the Middlestown Junior & Infants School, FOM’s (Friends of Middlestown School) web page.
Who are we?
If you have a child attending Middlestown School, you are automatically a member of FOM’s – your voice counts. FOM’s is a mixture of parents who work together for the benefit of Middlestown School. Some parent’s work part-time and some parents work full-time; NONE of us are specialists in fundraising.
What do we do?
Our aims are to:
- Raise much appreciated funds for the school
- Organise a range of fun and social activities
- Involve the whole school community
Over the years FOM’s have been very fortunate with the excellent support it has received from both parents and members of the school staff, but it is always looking for new ideas and help with the planning and running of events throughout the year.
What happens to the funds raised?
The funds raised are used to buy important additional resources for the school and children, which are not available within the standard school budget. These resources significantly enhance our children’s’ school experience.
Most recently the funds have purchased 10 new IPads and Atlas’s for the library.
How is FOM’s organised?
It has an elected Committee who run the FOM’s meetings and coordinates all FOM’s organized events. Meetings are held twice a term and are open to ALL members so we warmly encourage you to attend. We are working on getting FOM’s registered as a charity.
Individual events and activities are then organized by a much wider group of FOM’s helpers and other willing members whose support is vital and very much appreciated.
Who’s on the FOM’s Committee this year?
In the academic year 2015/16 the elected members are:
Chair Michelle Luty
Vice Chair Sam Cooper Y4
Secretary Heidi Genty Y4
Treasurer Karen Hall
Coming soon we have:
We will be arranging a meeting to discuss the forthcoming years activities, once confirmed this will be sent out via letter and/or text.
We aim to organize a variety of events in the hope that there is something on offer for everyone.
So if you fancy getting involved, ( we promise it’s not a lifelong commitment!) look out for details of our next meeting which always appears in the schools newsletter.
