The SAFEMARK session took Year 6 to St Swithun’s community centre in Eastmoor, Wakefield. The Metro representative taught the children about how to use online applications to organise their bus route, how to read a bus timetable and how to signal a bus. The children showed confidence in their knowledge of how to plan a journey and use the bus service.
Also, a council representative tested the children’s health and road safety knowledge when out and about walking and cycling. Holly Smith was the winner in the quiz and received a hula hoop as the prize. Year 6 feel ready to catch a bus to high school!
